It’s time!! The leaves flaming and misty mornings on the river, the crisp starry nights remind us it’s time to TEND FIRE!
Time to . . . prepare for the gracious and wild transformation of leaves into mulch . . . prep fall garden beds for winter . . . maybe seed some more native plants in the meadow . . .and be with fire as we continue the huge preparations to bring back fire into our Oak woodlands.
We're excited to be connected again and welcome you back, and show you how this land is responding to your love!!
On one of these weekends we will begin the ceremony of saying yes to the transformative offering of fire on a section of the woods that we have prepared.
We cannot guarantee which weekend. This Depends on forces outside of our control - weather, local prescribed burn support team (people who can do this legally) . . .
Have no fear! if weather doesn’t permit the prescribed burn, we will STILL be with fire (unless it's dry and windy), making underbrush and firs into biochar burn piles to support the on-going preparation of all the land.
In thanks for your gift of energy, time and love, RB offers you:
Time on this beautiful land, land work together and free lodging (Bring your own bedding and towels) + the following free Meals: Saturday breakfast, Saturday dinner and a simple Sunday breakfast!
Community Work times are Saturday morning 9:45 am-12:15/30pm; Saturday afternoon 2-5 pm and Sunday 9:45 - 12:15 pm.
We ask volunteers to come ready and willing to dive in and contribute during all of these times. If for some reason that is not possible, we welcome your financial gifts to be in reciprocity to cover the the real costs and keep these weekends financially sustainable for RB.

Please note:
You are WELCOME to sign up for both weekends if you are truly committed to both weekends.
Nov 3-5 we might have lodging for only about 15 individuals (more if there are couples sharing beds or someone willing to camp or sleep on a couch), so sign up soon if you want to come that weekend!!
If you are only interested in coming if we are able to do a prescribed burn, we understand, but please wait until the week before, so we don't hold a spot for you and then you cancel.
Please be thoughtful about your willingness to support the larger purpose and need for this work, which we will be engaging both weekends.
Land Tending Practices We'll work With:
Remembering the power and magic of this elemental connection and the Equinox time of spring, we'll - work on a beautiful new hidden trail through the woods - clear the way for madrone, manzanita, and oak in the eucalyptus - turn Biochar into good soil - plant some beauty - and play in a sacred way with fire!
Reconnecting our embodied experience with the land in this season we can notice connections with this sacred time in a number of traditions - Time to plant seeds, delight in the fecundity of new life, remember freedom, death, resurrection and mystery.
